My History
Family is everything to me. I am the second oldest of nine kids, and so I grew up in a very exciting and energetic environment. I love being a part of my siblings' lives and watching them grow. My parents are both my role models for life and have always been an encouragement to me.
I wanted to be a teacher from an early age. When other girls were playing "house", I was pretending to be a teacher. I did not know whether I wanted to take this path until I was in high school and observed a classroom. From there, I decided I wanted to be certified to teach Junior High and High School English. I graduated from Dallas Baptist University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Education. Through the education program, I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best and cannot wait to see their tutelage play out in my own teaching. |
About Me
I absolutely love reading and writing, both open up a whole new world. With reading, you get the opportunity to encounter someone else's world. With writing, you get to create your own. Both can work together to provide excitement and adventure.
I think that everything goes with coffee and my extensive coffee mug collection can attest to this love for coffee. I like exploring new places and finding new coffee shops to read or write. To end, I will quote one of my favorite authors, Jane Austen, when she says, "There is no charm equal to tenderness of the heart" and this is what I hope to be to those around me; a tender heart. |
